Mystic Waters No. 2

Mein zweiter Mystic Waters ist fertig gestrickt. Nun geht es heute ans färben. Das Tuch ist auf diesem Foto noch nicht gespannt:

 

My second Mystic Waters is finished, at least the knitting. I will dye it today. The shawl isn’t blocked yet on this photo.

Ansonsten waren die letzten Tag sehr stressig. Leider bekommen wir entgegen der Zusagen der Automobilindustrie für unser jetziges Auto, einen Volvo V40, keinen Dieselpartikelfilter. Also muss das Auto verkauft werden, solange es noch ein bisschen Wert hat. Mein Arbeitsplatz liegt in einem gebiet, was bald Umweltzone wird. So haben wir die letzten Tage damit zugebracht, den Automarkt zu durchforsten um herauszubekommen, was für ein Auto es sein soll. Wir sind beide keine Autojecken. Und in dem neuen gebrauchten Auto ist natürlich viel Platz für Wolle und Spinnräder, dennoch braucht es wenig Benzin.

The last days were full of stress. We found out that Volvo doesn’t stick to the promises that the automotive industry made, they wont produce a filter for our Diesel. So it was time to change car, because the place were I work will be in an environmentally marked area soon and Diesels without filter wont have access to there for long any more. So we had to see what kind of cars are on the market and find out which car is good for us. We both are not mad about cars, it just has to consume little petrol/gasoline. We found a car like that, and it offers enough space for lots of wool and spinning wheels.

Secret of the Stole ii Clue 2

Teil 2 ist vom Secret of the Stole ii fertig, aber irgendwie klappte das Foto nicht besonders gut. Zu viel Licht fürs Blitzen, aber zu wenig ohne. Aber man kann erkennen, wie die stola aussehen wird.

 

Und dann habe ich gestern Wollproben bekommen, Guteschafwolle und Guteschaf/Gotland-Mix. Mein Wolltester Merlin war zufrieden mit den Proben:

I finished Clue 2 of the Secret of the Stole ii , but the cam didn’t like me. There was too much light for using a flashlight, but too little to use it without. Still you can see what the stole will look like.

I got some fleece samples of Gutesheep wool and Gutesheep-Gotlandsheep-Mix, my wool tester Merlin thinks they are ok.

Wolliges Tagebuch – Wooly Diary

Es sind immer ein paar einfache Socken glatt rechts auf den Nadeln, und es sind auch mal wieder welche fertig geworden:

aus Opal Regenwald-Wolle, für mich.

There are always some stockinette socks on the needles, and I finished some for me, knitted with Opal Rainforest wool.

Mein zweiter Mystic Waters wächst langsam, ich bin jetzt bei Chart F

My second Mystic Waters is growing slowly, I am knitting Chart F right now.

Nicht nur auf den Nadeln sind viele verschiedene Dinge gleichzeitig, auch am Spinnrad spinne ich unterschiedliche Sachen, je nach Lust und Laune. Hier ist links Mohair mit Merino zu sehen, und rechts Norddeutscher Kammzug von Tinka. Der norddeutsche Kammzug wird ganz automatisch sehr fluffig, das ist bestimmt auch eine prima Wolle für Anfänger.

I am not only doing several things at the same time on the needles, but also on the spinning wheels, depending on my mood. On the left is some mohair with merino, and on the right Norddeutscher Kammzug (Northern German roving) from Tinka. This one becomes very fluffy automatically, I guess it is a real good roving for beginners.

Ein Projekt, was schon länger auf den Nadeln istund an dem ich gelegentlich stricke ist diese Jacke aus selbstgesponnener Merinowolle. Sie wird ähnlich wie die Weste Glava gestrickt.

 Occasionally I knit on this cardigan from selfspun merino wool, which is a bit like the Vest Glava.

Und das hier könnte die nächste Anleitung in diesem Blog werden, die Socken Bubbillion. Der Name ist abgeleitet von bubbles=Blasen, und da es viele kleine Kreise sind eben eine Bubbillion Blasen.

This might be my next free pattern in this blog, sock named Bubbillion. I got the name from bubbles, and lots of small circles makes a bubbillion of bubbles.

Spring Shawl Surprice, Clue 4

Heute auf dem Weg zur Arbeit musste ich umkehren, plötzliche Übelkeit und der Kreislauf war im Keller, ich war froh die Rückfahrt zu schaffen. Der Arzt hat mir dann viel Ruhe verordnet, aber liegen im Bett ging nicht, nur sitzen. Und damit es nicht zu langweilig ist habe ich Teil 4 vom Spring Shawl Surprice genadelt:

Today on my way to work I had to turn back home, sudden sickness and dizzyness struck me, I was glad I made my way home. The docotr told me to keep as quiet as possible, but with that feeling in my stomach I could only sit in bed, which is quite boring. So it happened that Spring Shawl Surprice Clue 4 is finished already.

Secret of the Stole ii

Heute hat ein neuer Kunststrick-Knitalong für eine Stola angefangen, Secret of the Stole ii. Diesmal habe ich gewartet, bis der erste Clue online war und dann erst in meinem Wollvorrat geschaut, was passen könnte. Ich stricke mit einer silbergrauen Wolle, die ich im letzten Herbst auf dem Flohmarkt erstanden habe. Es sind 20-g-Knäuel, die Zusammensetzung ist 80 % Mohair und 20 % Seide, Lauflänge 80 m, Nadelstärke 3,75 mm.  Die Wolle ist superweich und nicht zu fusselig. Teil 1 sieht jetzt so aus:

Today another lace knitalong started, Secret of the Stole ii. After the first clue was published I had a close look at my stash and decided to take a yarn that I bought on a fleamarket last autumn. It is soft, but not too fluffy, silvergrey, and consists of 80% mohair and 20 % silk. One ball has 80 m yarn and I knit with 3.75 mm needles.

Spring Shawl Surprice, Clue 3

Der Clue 3 vom Spring Shawl Surprice  ging fix zu stricken und ist schon fertig, obwohl ich nicht so viel Zeit hatte:

Vor exakt einem Vierteljahr habe ich die Link zu diesem Blog veröffentlicht. Ich habe dann  auch ältere Beiträge aus dem alten Blog hier hin kopiert. Der Besucherzähler hat heute die 14000!!! überschritten. Mit so vielen Besuchern/Lesern hätte ich nie gerechnet. Es war ein Experiment, einen übersichtlicheren und zweisprachigen Blog zu machen. Das Experiment ist bisher gelungen, vielen Dank an meine Besucher. Leider wird in der nächsten Zeit hier weniger zu lesen sein, da ich ab der nächsten Woche bis zum Sommer beruflich stärker eingebunden sein werde. Ich hoffe, dass ich trotzdem noch interessierte Leser haben werde.

Clue 3 of the Spring Shawl Surprice was easy to knit, so it is finished already though I had little time to knit.

Exactly a quarter of a year ago I published the link to my new blog and copied some posts of the older blog here. The counter shows already more than 14,000 visitors/readers  now!!! I absolutely did not expect to have so many visitors. It was an experiment to make a bilingual blog with a better layout, and the experiment worked. Thanks a lot to my visitors. Unfortunately there will be less posts until summer, because my work schedule will change and I will have less time to do needlecrafts. I hope there will still be readers who like to read this blog.

Schmap…

Schmap ist ein Online-Reiseführer. Eines meiner Fotos wird im Schmap Reiseführer für Oslo zu sehen sein. Nun wurde ein weiteres meiner Fotos für den Online-Reiseführer für Stockholm ausgesucht

Das ist das Vasamuseum in Stockholm. Die Vasa ist ein Schiff, dass im 30-jährigen Kireg die Geschicke Schwedens verbessern sollte, allerindgs sank sie auf der Jungfernfahrt im Stockholmer Hafen. Nachdem die Vasa viel länger als geplant in einem Trockendock im Stockholmer Hafen lag, hat man ihr dieses Museum gebaut.

Ein Foto, was ich im Herbst 2001 am selben Tag aufgenommen habe, finde ich noch interessanter:

Die Veranstaltungshalle Globen bei aufkommendem Nebel mit abendlichen Lichtreflexen auf der Westseite. Jede Menge weiterer selbstgeknipster Schwedenfotos aus dem Jahr 2001 gibt es hier.

Schmap is a worldwide online travel guide. I was asked again if I will give the permission to use one of my photos in that guide. This time it is a photo from Stockholm, the Vasa Museum. The Vasa was a war ship that sank in the Stockholm harbour in 1628. The second photo was taken on the same day in autumn 2001 and shows the festival hall Globen. The autumn light in the beginning haze looks quite cool. You can view more of my photos taken in Sweden in 2001 here .

Tinka Shawl

Here is the pattern of the Tinka Shawl, hopefully free of mistakes, which might happen when placing so many symbols.

If you decide to knit this shawl, it would be nice to hear how the pattern works and that you will copy photolinks of your finshed shawl. And now have fun knitting the shawl:

Tinka Tuch – Tinka Shawl

Das Tuch ist nach Tinka /Kathrin benannt, die mir die Wolle geschenkt hat. Ich hatte ihr für ihre Hochzeit ein Tuch ausgeliehen und war ganz überrascht, weil ich doch keine Gegenleistung dafür wollte.

Hier nun die Anleitung zum Tinka Shawl, allerdings zunächst einmal “ohne Gewähr”. Ich hoffe, dass die Anleitung fehlerfrei ist, aber kleine Fehlerteufel können sich überall einschleichen

Es wäre nett, wenn ich über die Kommentare eine Rückmeldung bekomme, wenn jemand das Tuch nachstrickt. Schön wäre es, dort auch mal Fotolinks zu bekommen. Und nun viel Spaß:
