Weste aus Kammzug – vest made from roving

Ich habe tatsächlich mal wieder etwas fertig bekommen

Weste, inspiriert von dieser Anleitung, aus 500 g Kammzug navajogezwirnt. Irgendwie fand ich kein Projekt zu dieser Wolle, so lag sie denn zwei Jahre rum, bis ich diese Anleitung gefunden habe.

Hard to believe, but I finally manage to finish some project. The vest was inspired by this pattern. It is made from 500 grams roving, navajo plied. The Wolle was spun for two years and when I saw this pattern I knew what to do with this wool.

Strickereien – some knitting

Hier ist die fertige sehr weiche Shetlandwolle, 500 Gramm, 1300 Meter Lauflänge, an einem verlängerten Wochenende gesponnen

Wie immer stricke ich mehrere Sachen gleichzeitig. Es muss auch mal wieder etwas anderes als ein Tuch sein. Deshalb nadele ich an dieser Weste aus selbstgesponnener Wolle navajogezwirnt (die Wolle ist dunkler als auf dem Foto). Inspiriert durch diese Anleitung

Always having several projects on the needles, I really need to knit something different from shawls and stoles now. The vest is inspired by a pattern from Garnstudio and knitted with selfspun navajo plied wool (darker than on the photo).

Der KAL Winterhauch geht nun schon fast ins Finale, in zwei Wochen kommt der letzte Teil online. Nun kann ich endlich mal zeigen, woran ich seit fast zwei Monaten intensiv entwerfe und stricke. Die Fotos zeigen das Tuch Winterhauch nach Teil 4

Ich bin mittlerweile bei meinem zweiten Tuch, und danach wird es Zeit, dass ich endlich mal an meinem Mystic Earth Tuch weiterstricke.

The KAL Winterhauch will be over in only two weeks, so now I can show a bit of what I planned, designed and knitted for the last two months now. The photos show the stole after part 4.

Etwas Gesponnenes – Some spinning

Mnachmal hat man Zeiten, da muss man sich einfach mal wieder oft ans Spinnrad setzen. So habe ich  denn in der letzten Woche endlich wieder etwas mehr gesponnen.

Links fast 200 g Alpakawolle, in der Mitte ca. 100 g Mohair mit Beyenburger Merino, mit Ashfordfarben gefärbt und rechts ca. 200 g Shetlandwolle von Alysse. Alysse hat wirklich traumhafte Fasern, die machen einfach süchtig. Von den beiden rechten Wollen habe ich noch reichlich zum Verspinnen hier.

Sometimes you really need to sit down at the spinning wheel, which I did more than usual during the last week. The results from the left: approx. 200 grams alpaca wool, approx. 100 grams mohair mixed with beyenburger Merino, dyed with Ashford dye, approx. 200 grams Shetland  roving from Alysse. Alysse really offers a nice variety of addicitve fibres. I still have loads to spinf rom the two fibres on the right of the photo.

Und dann war heute der große Flohmarkt in Schwelm. Diesen Flohmarkt gibt es seit Jahrzehnten zweimal jährlich. Dieses Jahr waren nur wenige Stände aufgebaut, echt schade. Immerhin habe ich ein Teil gefunden: Ein Nici-Sitzschaf (Hallo Anna, sollen wir mal raten, worauf Nele das nächste mal sitzen möchte ? )

Das Schaf sieht auf dem Foto fast klein aus, aber das täuscht. Es ist 70 cm lang und 35 cm breit, fest gestopft und ziemlich schwer. Das war also heute morgen mein Fitnesstraining, dieses Schaf über eine Stunde mit mir durch die Gegend zu schleppen. Komisch, wie sehr man auffällt, wenn man ein Schaf mit sich rumschleppt, ich habe damit reichlich freundliche Kommentare geerntet.

Today was the big fleamarket in Schwelm. This fleamarket exists since deades and takes place twice a year. Today only a few booths were set up, what a pity. But at least I found one piece: a Nici sheep. The sheep looks rather small on the photo, but that is an illusion. It is about 70 cm long and 35 cm wide, stuffed tight and pretty heavy. So my fitness training this morning was to carry that sheep around on the fleamarket for more than an hour. Strange how much you catch people’s eyes when you carry a sheep, I got quite a few nice comments on that.

One year ago my blog moved from myblog.de to wordpress.com and I started to blog bilingual. It is hard to believe, but I had more than 60,000 visitors!!! Here are some flower photos from our garden to say „Thank You“ to my readers. Plus a nice sunset to relax.

SOTS iii fertig – finished

Mein SOTS iii ist fertig. Heute nachmittag ist der letzte Teil ins Netz geladen worden, und der war wirklich fix zu stricken. Die Stola muss allerdings noch gespannt werden, wie man sehen kann ist sie bisher nur „geheckt“. Sie nimmt gerade ein Entspannungsbad.

My SOTS iii is finished. The last hint was uplaoded this afternoon, and this one was really fast to knit. The stole isn’t blocked yet, just „hedged“. It is taking a realxing bath now.

Nachtrag: hier ist ein Foto von der gespannten Stola. Die Perlen sieht man so nicht, aber sie sind DA!!!

Da ich so langsam Spaß am Stricken mit Perlen bekomme, habe ich mir einen schönen Perlenvorrat angelegt

As I start liking to use beads for knitting, I bought some nice beads to have some in my stash/stock.

Es war an der Zeit, die bunte Ombriawolle zu baden und zu trocknen. Und so konnte die Magnolie „bunte Früchte“ tragen

It was time for the multicolour Ombria to take a bath and to dry. So our magnolia could carry some „colourful fruits“.

Herbst – Autumn

Es ist sehr herbstlich geworden. Der Sturm fegt die Blätter von den Bäumen und die Niederschläge hören gar nicht auf. In einer Pause zwischen Hagel und Regen konnte ich wenigstens ein Foto draußen machen:

600 g navajogezwirnte Ombria, Ich muss sie noch auf Stränge wickeln, um die Lauflänge zu messen. Ein Paar dicke Socken aus selbgesponnenem selbstgefärbten Superwash-Kammzug von Tinka, mit einem Faden Synthetik-Kammzug von Tinka verzwirnt.

Die Mystic Earth Stola habe ich angefangen, allerdings ist der erste Teil noch nicht fertig. Hier schon mal ein Foto, wie die Stole bis jetzt aussieht

Now is is really autumn. The storm brushes the leaves from the trees, and it doesn’t stop to pour out of the sky. In a break between hail and rain I could take the first photo. 600 g Ombria, navajo-plied, and a pair of socks from selfspun and selfdyed superwash wool, plied with synthetics roving, both from Tinka.

I started my Mystic Earth stole, part 1 isn’t finished yet. This is what it looks so far.
