Spinne – Spider

Im Moment schwirren viele Insekten im Garten. Diese Spinne hat ein großes Netz gespannt und wartet auf Beute.Ich finde es immer noch faszinierend, dass man auf einem digitalen Foto viel mehr Details erkennen kann als mit dem bloßen Auge.

Right now lots of insects are flying through our garden. This spider spun a huge net and is waiting for a prey. I still think it s facinating that you can see much more details on a digital photo than the eyes can see.

Frühjahr 2012, Kater Merlin genießt auf „Der Bank“ die ersten Frühlings-Sonnenstrahlen. Merlin ist mittlerweile 12 Jahre alt. Er war in diesem Frühjahr sehr krank nach einer Impfung und wäre beinahe gestorben. Er hatte eine lange Genesungszeit, aber nun geht es ihm besser.

Spring 2012, tomcat Merlin enjoys the first rays of spring sun on „the bench“. Merlin is 12 years old by now. He was very sick this spring after getting a vaccination and was very close to death. he had a long recovery, but now he feels better.

Foto der Woche – 1 – Photo of the Week

Wie bereits angekündigt gibt es ab jetzt ein Foto der Woche. Ich habe mir überlegt, dass der Mittwoch ein guter Tag für die Veröffentlichung ist. Und dann habe ich geschaut, was ich vor zehn Jahren ins Netz geladen habe. Dieses Foto ist etwa 10 Jahre alt, vom 24. April 2005. Kater Merlin betrachtet eingehend unseren Miniteich, der ist etwa halb so groß wie eine Badewanne. Der alte Tennisschläger bedeutet, dass unsere Tochter den Teich wie jedes Frühjahr gesäubert hat. Und dann gibt es Aufregung unter den vielen Molchen, die dort wohnen. Kaum zu glauben, aber in dem bisschen Wasser wohnen immer etwa 50 Molche. Also erstklassiges Katzenkino. Die Körpersprache von Merlin bedeutet, dass er erst mal sehr vorsichtig ist. Auf dem zweiten Foto ist er schon mutiger. Und auf dem dritten Foto möchte Kater Lasse auch mal mit Katzenkino anschauen. Bitte drückt für Merlin ganz feste die Daumen. Er wird bald zwölf Jahre alt und ist jetzt sehr krank. Wir wissen nicht, ob er noch mal gesund wird. Merlin fand von Anfang an mein Spinn-Hobby toll und ist ein meisterlicher Wolltester.

As I announced before there will be a photo of the week from now on. I decided that Wednesday is a good day for publishing that photo. And then I had a look at what I uploaded to the net ten years ago. This photo is about ten years old, from 24th April 2005. Tomcat Merlin takes a close look at our mini pond, which has about half the size of a bath tub. The tennis racket means that our daughter cleaned the pond as she does every spring. And that gives a lot of excitement for the newt population there. Hard to believe, but there live about 50 newts  in this small pond. So watching this is a perfect occupation for a cat. Merlin’s body language shows that he is still very careful in the first photo, but much more courageous in the second. And in the third photo, tomcat Lasse also wants to have a look at the action in the pond. Pleas press your thumbs for Merlin. He will be twelve years old soon and he is very ill right now. We do not know if he will be healthy again. Merlin thought right from the start that my spinning hobby was great, he is a wool tester with master degree.

Es war einmal eine kleine süße Katze namens Lilly, auf dem Foto war sie 3 1/2 Monate alt. Heute ist sie eine sehr große süße Katze und wiegt 7,5 kg. Wenn sie nicht auch weißes Fell hätte, könnte man sie glatt für einen kleinen Panther halten.

There once was a small sweet cat named Lilly, in the photo she was 3 1/2 months old. Today she is a huge sweet cat and weighs 7.5 kilograms. If she didn’t have white fur as well you might think she is a small panther.

Sommer 2010: frei laufende Schafe in einem Naturreservat bei Sellingen/Niederlande. Mann kann mit dem Fahrrad durch dieses Naturreservat radeln. Es ist von Viehrosten begrenzt, damit die schafe und Kühe in dem Gebiet nicht ausbrechen können.

Summer 2010: sheep running free in a nature reservation area in Sellingen/ The Netherlands. You can cylcle through this area. There are special „gates“ on the borders of that are sunk into the ground. Tubes are fixed there in a certain distance. The sheep and cows do not dare to passt them, because they might break their legs.
